On a freezing cold morning, I look upon the tips of the branches unconsciously. I see several small buds beginning to swell.

I feel the first signs of spring and realize the strength of nature.

I am pleased to announce the opening of a small shop & gallery of utsuwa (Japanese potteries) and handicrafts located in a complex of Oiwake Karuizawa.

How wonderful it would be...

To have a place to share the tiny pieces of joy I feel every day...

To have a place to share the beauty of handmade works with everyone...

 

Blessed by many precious connections, I am thankful to be able to achieve this day.

I named the shop "utsuwa, handcrafts, Mebuki" in the hope this place would be a place of budding(mebuki) for all of you.

I hope you enjoy touching and feeling the beautiful handcrafts in a relaxed atmosphere in the rich nature of Oiwake Karuizawa.

I would like to thank the owners of the utsuwa galleries, who have been so supportive throughout the years. I have received helpful advices from them and they have given me the courage to take this step forward.

What a blessing it is to be able to follow the footsteps of those who I admire so much.

I would also like to express my gratitude to the artists who put all of their effort to deliver precious handcrafts.

I hope that Mebuki would become a peaceful and relaxing place for all of you.
